Be a Better Boss With CEO, Entrepreneur, and Real Estate Investor, Christian Paro

I talked with Real Estate Investor, CEO, and Entrepreneur Christian Paro this week on the Leadership After Hours podcast. He not only owns the office building we run Stronger Leaders Stronger Profits out of but also Studio 615, a full production studio and event center. We will be throwing the Leadership Revolution Festival there April 5-6, 2024. (You’ll be hearing a ton more about this from me shortly!) Christian shares insights from his time working for the New City Parks Department, his real estate journey, and his unplanned stumble into business ownership.

Here are a few of my takeaways and highlights from our 2 part discussion:

  1. Talk less. Christian has maintained near 0% turnover in his companies. When I asked him his secret. He said, “I talk the least of anyone in our meetings.” It’s amazing how much effective conscious leadership comes from being a great listener. Let your people get all their ideas out first, so you get to hear their wonderful ideas without the bias of them knowing your initial opinion.

  2. Have the self-awareness and perspective to know your strengths and your gaps in knowledge. If you are the most experienced in the room at a particular thing, or you have the best data, then take charge and don’t waste your team’s time with a 30min meeting to discuss a problem that you already know what you’re going to do to solve.

  3. Great leaders lean into what they’re given to create novel solutions. Christian creates great design, function, and saves money starting with what he has at hand first. This reminds me of a great coach you game plans around the strengths of his team, instead of clinging to “his way” or “the way it should be.” Be adaptable, be creative, and optimize what’s in front of you.

Season 2, Episodes 12 & 13 with the prolific, fun, and genuine Christian Paro are out now! The world needs more conscious leaders to create the world we all deserve to live in. You are what you consume, and the Leadership After Hours podcast is a great investment in yourself and your future.
